Dear St Michael’s School Community,
Congratulations to Anna and Cam Harvey, who are going to be blessed with a new baby in early October.
Pink Shirt Day Friday 17 May – It’s a day when our school can Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying! Students can wear a ‘pink shirt’ instead of their usual school uniform shirt, and wear the remainder of their school uniform. Alternatively, wear full school uniform with pink accessories e.g. hair tie, bow, scarf or earrings.
There will be a strike on Wednesday 29 May. The Board of Trustees have decided to close the school due to health and safety.
The three key issues we want the government to address are as follows:
- A nationwide crisis in recruiting and retaining teachers.
- Heavy workloads putting massive pressure on teachers and principals.
- A lack of resourcing for students with additional learning needs.
