Dear St Michael’s School Community,
It is wonderful to see how settled the students are back at school. Most students are happy to say goodbye to their parents at the gate and to walk independently into school. If children need extra assistance please remember to drop them to their teacher outside their classroom (please do not enter the classroom). Students this week have been learning about Pentecost and the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is regarded as the birthday of the Christian church.
Alert Level 2
Next week will be the last week of staff monitoring the gates from 8.15 a.m., however children are still welcome to enter the school at this time. It will also be our last week for the early 2.30 p.m. pick up. Just a reminder that any entry into the school must be recorded either on the School Loop app, or on the forms (outside Room 1 or at the office). We will be realigning morning tea and lunch breaks across the school from Monday 8 June.
Distance learning is now complete. We would love to have your feedback on how distance learning worked for your child and your family. We value your input, and thank all those families who have already completed the survey. This will help us to continue to refine and improve our distance learning programmes.
If you have not filled out the survey, please follow the link and do so: Online Survey Link
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent Teacher interviews will be held when the country enters Level 1. This could be Weeks 11 or 12 of this term. We will continue to monitor the situation and let you know closer to the time.

“Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle them in the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen” (https://www.pinterest.nz/pin/460985711834987224/)

The PTA is currently offering a contact-less sales service of second-hand uniforms. We have a good supply of most winter uniform items, including school jackets and jumpers, so please email us with any inquiries.
The process is as follows:
- Email your requests to firstname.lastname@example.org – please specify your exact requirements (e.g. girls’ winter shirt size 8 x 2 or boys shorts size 10 x 1).
- We will get back to you asap with availability and prices.
- If you are happy to proceed with the order, we will ask that you transfer payment to the PTA bank account.
- The items will then be sent home with your child.
- If you need to exchange or return any items, we will arrange this.
- If you need any items urgently, please let us know and we will work something out.
The next PTA meeting will be held on Monday 8 June 7 p.m. either in the staffroom or school hall, depending on numbers attending.
