Staggered Start: Students may still come to school after 8:15 a.m. but there will not be a person on duty at Bassett or Beatrice Roads.

Mufti Day for the Heart Kids Foundation – Friday 25 September

Please bring a gold coin donation to help fundraise for this excellent cause! Sofia, Anna and Eve will pop around on Friday morning to collect donations from each class.

Cans for Christmas!

St Vincent de Paul Society are currently sending out about 750-1000 food parcels a week. As a collective we can help!

Please bring any cans to be donated to the box outside the office – cans will be collected on Friday 18 September (end of Week 9). Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Updated dates

  • Footsteps Showcase on Friday 25 September – teachers will post snippets of Footsteps dances onto Class Dojo instead!
  • Photolife has been changed to 20 October 2020 (8 a.m. start)
  • Parent Teacher Interviews on Wednesday 28 October (1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) and Thursday 29 October (3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.). You will be able to book times in Term 4.

2020 Yummy Sticker Collection

(4 more days!!  Last day to hand in forms is Monday 21st September!)

This is the last week to collect stickers for this year’s sports gear allocation.  Please place all sheets in the PTA box outside the school office once school has re-opened.

Virtual World theme!

DJ Mike Cruz is back to play some sounds at this highly anticipated event so bring the family and dance the night away! Dress up as your favourite online character or just come and enjoy some dancing! Note: This is not a drop off event so parental supervision is required.

There is a pre-pay option for the disco.  Cash will still be accepted but we encourage you to pre-pay for tickets.  This means you won’t have to join the queue for purchasing tickets on the night.  We will also be pre-selling bundles of $1.00 tickets that can be used like cash on the night for food, etc.

Entry Tickets $5.00 per child or $10 per family.  Then add on the amount you wish to spend at the Disco (e.g. $5, $10, $15, $20…) to your deposit.  Additional tickets can be purchased on the night.

(For example, a family of 2 children attending with $20 spending money will add ‘2’ as the number attending and will deposit $30 into the PTA account).  Easy!

PTA positions available for 2021

It’s time to start thinking about how you might like to be involved with the fabulous SMCS PTA for 2021!  Chairperson/s, Secretary roles will be available as well as other roles that we would love your help with.  Being part of the PTA is a very rewarding experience and we have had a fantastic, motivated group this year, fitting in fundraising/social events whenever it has been possible!  Come along to the last few PTA meetings of the year and see what it’s all about or email Emma/Caroline at [email protected] with any questions.

Beginning Experience Grief Resolution Weekend Retreat

ALONE AGAIN? Widowed, Separated or Divorced? The Beginning Experience is a non-profit organization with the motto a “Weekend Away for a Lifetime of Change” for adults. The retreat will help you work through your painful loss. The participants find new hope, increased emotional health and renewed energy. Date Friday evening to Sunday afternoon 6 – 8 November.
