Reviewing SMCS Charter
The purpose of a school charter:
Is to establish the mission, aims, objectives, direction, and targets of the board that will give effect to the Government’s national education guidelines and the board’s priorities, and provide a base against which the board’s actual performance can later be assessed.
In order to plan for the improvement in progress and achievement that the board is seeking it is necessary to gather information and evidence to support decision making in regards to the priorities and targets that need to be set for the following year. Involving our school community helps to ensure the charter reflects shared aspirations for students.
Survey Community – 27/10/20 to 6/11/20:
Due to COVID the Board of Trustees have decided to gather information through conducting a survey rather than having a large gathering. The survey will be emailed and hard copies will be available at Parents Interviews.
The following information will be gathered:
- What qualities do you want our SMCS Graduates to have?
- Strengths of SMCS?
- Weaknesses of SMCS?
- Opportunities at SMCS?
- Threats at SMCS?

World Mission Sunday
We are in the middle of Mission Month. World Mission Sunday will be celebrated on 18 October 2020 when all Churches throughout the world come together to support the mission. In his recent annual Message, Pope Francis highlights the call to be missionaries amidst the current global pandemic. He says the Lord continues to ask us “Whom shall I send?” and that this call to mission emerges as an “invitation to step out of ourselves for love of God and neighbour” through service and prayer. May we all take on the challenge at these extraordinary times to respond to our special missionary calling, “Here I am, send me” to help transform lives! To honour the request of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima, let us continue to pray for peace. As a special intention this month of Mission, let us pray for the restoration of health security and end of the pandemic worldwide.
May your Mission Month be blessed with good health, peace, and Gospel Joy.
