Health and Safety
In light of the tragedy at Pigeon Mountain School please take extra care when driving into or from driveways around our school. Also, if your child has to cross Arney Road ensure they know how to do this safely. There was a near miss last week where a car almost hit one of our students. The crossing is the safest way for children to cross Bassett Road.

Religious Education – End of Strand reflection & sharing of learning opportunity – Thursday 1 April
In response to parent feedback from the 2019/2020 Religious Education Internal Review, we are reimplementing opportunities for students to share their learning with families at home at the end of each Strand. This term, the students have been learning about Jesus.
On Thursday 1 April, they will be bringing home RE books to share and discuss with you. Inside each student’s book you will find a reflective template on which you are encouraged to write a brief comment about the discussions you had with your child about their religious education learning.
Please return these books back to school following the Easter break so that learning can continue seamlessly in the classroom. Thank you.
Example of reflection page you will see in student books:

Help needed please!!
The PTA will be providing morning tea for all of our wonderful Grandparents. We please need help with baking and preparation and serving on the day.
Please get your bake on and provide a plate of sweet treats. These should be bite sized and easy to eat. Shortbread, slices, biscuits, brownie, mini muffins, scones etc.
For catering purposes it would be helpful to know what you can bring. Please email [email protected] to confirm.
The PTA will be making all savoury options. Please email [email protected] if you can help with this from 9am on the day or if you are able to help serve and tidy up afterwards. Thank you!
School Disco – Save the date!!!!
Huge thanks to Gio Penna for volunteering to run the disco this year. We are planning to hold the disco on Friday 28th May. More information will follow over the next few weeks.
School Uniform Shop
The next date for the School uniform Shop will be 14th May. Payment may be made by cash or online payment. Sorry no EFTpos available. We are still quite short of stock for girls’ uniforms, especially larger sizes. Now we’re approaching the end of term it’s a great time to check out last year’s winter uniform and see if you have anything to donate!! Also, if you have any spare hangers they will be very welcome for use in the shop.
To donate uniforms or hangers please put them in a bag and drop to Genevieve at the office.
The purpose of the St Michael’s Caring Shed is for the families within our school and parish community to provide Good Quality household items that can help to make someone else’s house a home. They will take most good quality items.
Please DO NOT put any broken or unusable items into the Caring Shed. Mrs McKeown has put a sign on the door of what should not be put into the shed, please take note of this when donating. To access the Caring shed, please get the key from the school office.
Louise and the year 6 Outreach leaders and their families visited Monte Cecilia on Tuesday to take the Easter eggs that we as a school community donated. If you would like to donate any food items please place them in the labelled basket in the school office foyer.
These donations will be added to the Parish food bank, which is donated regularly to St Vincent De Paul for distribution. If you have any queries please contact Louise Barnett, the Caring Shed Coordinator on [email protected]
Please either see Jim if you spot him in the garden or email us at [email protected] if you might be interested in helping. Thanks!
The next PTA meeting has been planned for 7pm Monday 10th May, in the Staffroom. We would love to see you there – new members are always welcome, and we are a friendly bunch!
