Tēnā koutou katoa St Michael’s Catholic School Community,

“Poipoia te kakano Kia puawai ”
Nurture the seed and it will blossom

I hope all Mothers had a lovely Mother’s day. I certainly did as I had a surprise visit from my Son who lives in Australia. We had not seen him in person since Christmas of 2019.  Parent Teacher interviews were well attended and seemed to run smoothly.

Traffic Plan

We are receiving complaints from our neighbours with regards to our behaviour when dropping off and picking up. In some cases cars are blocking neighbours driveways and preventing those families from taking their own children to school. The Health and Safety Committee (sub-committee of the Board) is revising the Traffic Plan for our school. We will be seeking your input as part of a Community Consultation meeting later this term.

Playground Supervision after School

An Ascension Day Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, right before your Ascension into heaven you told your apostles to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth upon receiving the Holy Spirit. May I be similarly inspired to spread your Gospel message in word and deed, according to your will for me. And may I do so prudently and joyfully, with your help, your guidance, and your grace! And remembering this glorious event, help me to seek what is above, Heaven, where you are seated at the right hand of God the Father!  (https://www.ourcatholicprayers.com/)

The Caring shed and food donations

Monte Cecilia really appreciates our donations BUT please, please, please can we ask that only good quality items are put into the Caring shed. And also NO ELECTRICAL ITEMS PLEASE!

Again, this week, Louise and Marama have had to throw away quite a few broken and soiled items that would not have been taken by Monte Cecilia. Please only use the shed for good quality items that still have some use in them.

Thank you to those who have been donating to the food basket in the foyer outside the office, these donations will go into the Parish foodbank for distribution. The Students have been taking these donations at the offertory during Class masses.
