Tēnā koutou katoa St Michael’s Catholic School Community,

“Me mahi tahi tātou mo te oranga o te katoa”
We should work together for the wellbeing of everyone.

I feel pleased with our response to Alert Level 4 with such short notice. Most families were able to pick up their child/ren’s learning packs on Tuesday evening. Thank you to Georgina, Catherine and Peter helping set up these packs. We hope the learning packs have been a success for you so far. We know there will have been any number of challenges for you to deal with, especially with us not having enough time to send out devices for the students to work on.

As a school, our number one priority is the wellbeing of our children, and our families. Therefore, please complete only what your child/ren can cope with on a particular day, or what your family can cope with. Be kind during these uncertain times and ensure that your emails and posts on social media/WhatsApp chats are positive as we do not know what each person is going through at this time.

Value of the Week

Each week the Outreach Leaders have been announcing which of our four values will be a focus. This week the value is “Listen to God’s Call” (Like Mary did in the Annunciation Luke 1: 26-38). It would be lovely if children showed this value at home in their bubbles!

Prayer To St. John Eudes – 1601- 1680 (Feast Day 19 August)

“Father, you chose the priest John Eudes to preach the infinite riches of Christ. His teaching and example help us to know you better and live faithfully in the light of the gospel. Through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever, Amen.”

PTA News

We would just like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to all of the staff at St Michael’s for their preparedness, and the speed that they got learning packs out to all of the families on Tuesday night. Thank you all.

We hope that you are all coping well at home and we look forward to seeing everybody back safe and well in the very near future.
