Catholic Special Character Internal Review Parent/whanau survey

We would love for you to complete this survey.
As part of our annual Catholic Special Character Review, we would like to gather information about how effectively our school, through its practices and communications, facilitates encounters with Christ and spreads the Good News.

We aim to explore any barriers to meaningful (conscious, active) participation of families in Special Character (encountering Christ) opportunities provided through school and parish. Thank you in advance for your input.

Term 1 Progress Reports

The Term 1 Progress Reports will be sent home in Week 11. Mathematics will read differently this year due to the implementation of the new programme: Maths No-Problem! This programme is taught in year levels and follows a topic-based structure. As our reports are reviewing Term 1 only, the comments will reflect the children’s learning in Place Value, Addition and Subtraction for most year levels as this is what has been taught this term. The Term 3 Progress Report comments will reflect on other topics within Mathematics that are scheduled to be taught throughout Terms 2 and 3, including Multiplication, Division, Fractions and other strand topics (Measurement, Geometry, Statistics).

Notify School for Student Absences

If a member of your family tests positive please email the office and let the class teacher know that you are in isolation and would like a learning pack for your child. Inform us also if your child/ren becomes positive as we need to send numbers of daily covid cases to the Ministry of Education.

Lenten Prayer: At this time – Tenei Wa
Dear Lord,
e te Ariki,
At this time of pandemic,
Let us foster respect and solidarity with others,
especially those who are weak or poor.
Let us remain calm and ignore unsubstantiated rumours.
Let us take advantage of living together as a family.
Let us attend to moments of prayer.
Let us cultivate responsibility, patience and hope.

School Board Elections 2022

The next trisennial school Board of Trustees (BoT) elections are to be held in September this year and we encourage you to think about running for the Board.

The BoT is made up of elected parent representatives, proprietor representatives, Ann as principal, and a teacher representative. As a school community it makes us stronger when we have a cross section of views and experiences at a governance level. While being on the Board can be challenging it is also rewarding as you draw on your personal experiences while considering the wider good and direction the school is heading. September is only 6 months away so now is the time to start considering how you can contribute.

Feel free to contact any of the current BoT members, if you would like to know more you can email Jon Williams [email protected]

We’d like to hear from you! People of all backgrounds are invited to contribute. Completing this feedback form takes about five minutes and your input will feed into a diocesan/regional paper on how we as a Church and as Catholics ‘journey together’, which then informs a paper to the Vatican. Catholic Church Aotearoa Feedback Form
