Over the next few weeks we celebrate special feast days in the Church: Sunday 12 June Trinity Sunday and the following Sunday, The holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi).
Thank you for the generous donations to the Westpac Chopper Appeal last week. These were gratefully received.
A reminder that classrooms are open from 8.30am and children will be supervised until the 8.55am bell. We have noticed a number of students arriving particularly early, before 8am, and ask that you be mindful that teachers are preparing lessons at this time and not available for supervision until classrooms open.
Year 5/6 Sports Exchange for the Senior School
Sports exchanges between other Remuera Schools will be held on the following dates: Tuesday 28 June, Tuesday 5 July. Term 3 – Tuesday 2 August, Tuesday 9 August & Tuesday 16 August.
* no offsite games on Tuesday 14 June & Tuesday 21 June

Health and Safety
We are still having cases of COVID-19 in our school so it is important that you follow these Health and Safety guidelines:
- Wear a mask when on site and especially if you enter our school building.
- If a child is sick they need to stay at home
- Year 4 up are strongly recommended to wear masks indoors
- Sanitise / wash your hands regularly

School Board Elections Information 2022
Our school will be undertaking a parent election for 5 School Board vacancies.
This process will start with the issuing of nomination papers to our caregiver community by Friday 15th July 2022.
We have employed CES to undertake the election process on our behalf. This year with legislative change, our nomination form and full instruction on how to place your nomination into our own School’s Election website will be emailed to you if we have your email address in our database or you will receive it by post if we don’t have your email in our database.
Nomination papers will also be available at the school office. The school will send those on to CES for processing upon receipt from candidates.
Nominations close on Wednesday 3rd August at 12 noon. Election day is Wednesday 7th September.
We look forward to your participation in this process.
Education Review Office (ERO)
The Education Review Office (ERO) has shifted to a more developmental approach to evaluation that supports each school’s improvement over time. Key features of the new approach, Te Ara Huarau, are that ERO will:
- work with all schools in an ongoing way rather than as a one-off event
- connect with each school’s strategic planning and reporting cycle as part of their improvement journey
- work in partnership with schools, collaborating in support of equitable and excellent outcomes for all learners
As a result, each school will:
- have a dedicated ERO Evaluation Partner who works alongside the school
- have a different experience depending on needs, strengths, and their school’s specific evaluation focus
- be on a three-year evaluation cycle
What will public reporting on ERO’s website look like?
As schools’ transition into the approach, ERO will work with schools to publish a one-off Profile Report. This will focus on the strategic goals schools have in place to improve learner outcomes and what the school is seeking to achieve through the evaluation.
Within a three year cycle all schools will then have a Te Ara Huarau | School Evaluation Report. This report includes information about the school’s improvement journey, what the school has achieved for learners and their future priorities.
All schools will receive a Board Assurance with Regulatory and Legislative Requirements Report about their board’s attestation to meeting those requirements. Provision for International Students and Hostel Reports will be published where applicable.
Progress Reports – These reports are not published on ERO’s website. Progress reports will provide specific information for specific audiences such as your board, the community or the Ministry of Education.

School Disco – Thursday 23 June
The School Disco is 2 weeks away and we can’t wait to see you all there!
Don’t forget to get your tickets, pre-order food and get tokens for spending in one of our stalls on the night through the myKindo app.
We are in search of someone with an ‘off-premise liquor license’. If you do have one or know someone, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
We are also still in need of volunteers to help to make this event a success, so please contact us either on email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Whatever time you can help on the night will be greatly appreciated!
Please remember you have until 8:59am on the day of Sushi (Wed) and Pizza/Ice Block (Friday) orders to cancel your order through the Kindo App if your child is sick.
Food Donations for Class Masses
We are continuing to collect non-perishable food items in the baskets outside the office. If you are keen to donate, please give your child the items the week of their class mass, to be placed in the baskets before Thursday morning.
Next PTA Meeting
Our next PTA meeting is next Monday, 13th June at 7pm. We are meeting in person in the Staffroom at School, and there will also be a Zoom alternative for those who would like to attend from home. Please email email@example.com for the Zoom link.
