  • If a child has been unwell with a respiratory illness other than COVID-19, they can return to school 24 hours after they have significantly improved and are behaving/eating normally.
  • Following vomiting or diarrhoea, a child should be symptom free for 48 hours before they can return.

School Board Elections Voting update 2022

The SMCS community will have received their voting papers by now. Those without valid email addresses would have been mailed voting papers. Voting papers are barcoded, pin numbered and have a unique identifier so voting can only be done once. A courier bag has been provided to school to receive any votes that come across the school counter.

Please don’t forget to place your Vote.  Election day is Wednesday 7th September.

Garden Club with Jim and Lucy

The children from Room 1 enjoyed their turn in the garden the other week. With some guidance from Jim, they learnt about composting and learnt to identify the different types of vegetables that are currently in the garden. They then got their own hands grubby and sowed Puriri seeds into individually named pots. Please keep your eye on the seeds because they should germinate over the next few months!
