Ma’u ha aho lelei | Have a nice day.
This week we especially think of our Pacific neighbour, Tonga. Tongan is a Polynesian language that belongs in the same language family as the languages of NZ Māori, Samoan, Hawai’i and Tahiti.
Wow what a fantastic evening was had by all who attended the Spring Quiz Night last week. It was wonderful to be able to gather socially and am sure we all learnt something new too!
Thank you to Deahna Barrington and Emma Houghton who organised this superb event on behalf of the PTA. Thank you also to the Quiz Night Sponsors – Baguette & Co AND Marsic Fish Shop for their support.

- Following vomiting or diarrhoea, a child should be symptom free for 48 hours before they can return.

- 16th Sept – Closing date for Calendar art orders.
- 23rd Sept – Grandparents day.
- 26th-30th Sept – Book week and Book fair .
This week, you should have seen the notice on Class Dojo and also hopefully received a flyer about Calendar Art. All of the students have been working on cool art during the past few weeks, which will be made into fantastic items for sale. We have diaries, calendars, mouse mats, greetings cards and sketch (plain paper books) all personalised with your child’s art. These make great presents for friends and family.
If you have other children not at school who would like to feel involved then it’s also possible to upload a photo of your choice to be made into any of the above.
Please check out www.kidsartwork.co.nz and navigate to your child’s room where you should find their name and order directly from the company. We receive a percentage of each sale, which will be put towards resources at the school. Closing date for orders is 16th Sept. In case of any problems, please contact us via [email protected].
Thank you to Room 8 Parents for their help with pizzas this week. Your support is really appreciated.
Food donations at Thursday class Masses
Please feel free to donate non-perishable food at any time to the basket outside Genevieve’s office, but especially if it is your room’s turn for Mass as the items in the basket are taken up at the offertory by the children before being sent to Monte Cecilia alongside donations given by the Parish and are then distributed to needy families.

Auckland Netball – Summer Netball League and October school holiday Programme
Summer Netball League kicks off in two weeks – it’s fun and can be as competitive as you like. Great for school or work teams and also perfect for year 6 students to learn how to play 7 aside for next year.
Secondly, the October school holidays are looming and registrations for these have opened. We have welcomed a new Programme Development Officer, Sammie Tanira who joins us from Kelly Club and has lots of great ideas. Trip Days are back (after a long break thanks to COVID) and our Multi Activity schedule is bursting with fun for all.
