Tēnā koutou katoa St Michael’s Catholic School Community,

“He aha te mea nui o te āo? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata!”
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is people, it is people, it is people!

I hope you all had a lovely term break. It was such a joy to see many of you at the School/Parish Mass. A big thank you to Georgina, Jessica and Lauren for organising this beautiful Mass. Thanks also to the Parish for hosting the light luncheon afterwards. I had a wonderful sabbatical and felt rejuvenated and eager to be back. Unfortunately I contracted Covid last week which put a bit of a damper on my return.

This is a busy term with lots of exciting events taking place, such as: Cricket taster sessions run by the Parnell Club (Wk 1); Dance Curriculum will be taking dance lessons for the whole school (Wks 2 & 3); Life Education (Wk 4); and Athletics Day (Wk 5).

Welcome Baby Ephraim!

Miss van Schaijik welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Ephraim Wilhelmus Havill (weighing 2.66kg), on Friday 7 October. Both Mother and baby are doing well!

Welcome to New Families and Students

Thanks to everyone for supporting Book Week the last week of Term 3!

It was a wonderful week and the children all had a great time!

The Scholastic Book Fair had lots of books donated to the school library which was great to see!

We also sold a whopping amount of books which gave us $1,193 for the library to spend on new books for the school so thank you all!

The next Scholastic catalogue is out now with a bumper Christmas issue, orders close Friday the 4th of November.

The Caring Shed

If you used the holidays as an opportunity to have a clear out at home, don’t forget that any good quality household items will be gratefully received by the Monte Cecelia Housing trust. Genevieve has the key to the Caring shed in her office. No food or electrical items please!!

Non-perishable food donations are very welcome in the basket outside Genevieve’s office to be presented by the children at the Offertory at class Masses each week and are then added to the parish’ offerings to go to Monte Cecilia.

The intensity will start slightly lower again at the beginning of term and will gradually build as the term goes on and as your fitness increases, but it’s also a fantastic work out that you can take at your own pace.

There’s room for 10 people per session at a cost of $12 each time using a special discount code. Please see website for details and book online to secure your place. www.cmfitness.co.nz. Discount code BADASSMAMA
