Mitey Feather Challenge!

Let’s build our school korowai together!  A huge thank you to the families who have already decorated and returned their feathers. They look fantastic! To truly bring our school cloak to life, we need a few more "layers" of support.

It’s hard to make a whole-school korowai with just four feathers, so we’d love for every family in our school commuity to be represented. Please print a feather at home or come into the office to grab one. 

Positive mental health for our family is…

Examples - Walks in the outdoors together, playing family board games together, fishing as a family, family dinners at the table.

We are now accepting enrolments for 2027!

If you have a younger child who will be turning 5 by the end of this year, please make sure to submit your Application for Enrolment via email to secure a place for 2027.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Our Book Week is fast approaching!

Here are some little reminders:

• Book Swap - we have started collecting second hand books in good condition. Please send them to the library or the classroom teacher. Thank you to those families who already donated a book.
• Character Parade - please start thinking about a costume for your child - preferably from a book (it is book week!). We do not want it to be a stressful or costly activity. If you are stuck, please feel free to talk to your child’s teacher or email me k.twomey@smcs.school.nz for ideas.

Get ready to turn the page and Book an Adventure! Book Week will be happening in Week 2 of next term and we can’t wait to celebrate with our school community.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store:

• Book Swap – bring a book, take a book!
• Story Walk – step into a story and explore!
• Character Parade – dress up as your favourite book character!

We’d love your help to make the week extra special.

We are looking for volunteers to:

• Help run the book swap
• Read and share stories with classes
